Woodward's 907-1183 HMI can be equipped with a NEMA 4X-rated protective housing. Although the housing is optional, it is recommended because it effectively protects the electromechanical components from any permanent damage. The housing is waterproof and dust-proof, suitable for harsh outdoor conditions.
Models 9907-1183 are equipped with 32-bit microcontrollers to control a variety of turbines, such as industrial-size standard steam turbines, utility turbine generators, and turbine expansion models. It can be configured as a standalone device or run in conjunction with a DCS (distributed control system) in an industrial plant. The 505E controller is designed to operate the extraction and/or intake of most steam turbine systems.
The Woodward HMI's PID construction makes it ideal for applications where parameters such as turbine speed, load, inlet pressure, exhaust manifold pressure, or extraction/intake manifold pressure need to be monitored and controlled. With a 4-20 mA sensor and PID and ratio/limiter function, the 9907-1183 provides precise control of extraction/intake while protecting the turbine from operating beyond its parameters.
