The IS230PCAAH1A is a kernel simulation module designed for Mark VIe systems. It was developed by General Electric. Most of the analog signal I/O required to operate a gas turbine is provided by the Core Analog (PCAA) module and the associated core analog (TCAS and TCAT) terminal boards. Thermocouple input, 4-20 mA current loop I/O, seismic input, linear Variable differential transformer (LVDT) excitation and input, pulse rate input, and servo coil output are all provided by PCAA and TCAT.
Function description
The module is suitable for simplex, duplex and TMR systems. A single TCAT terminal board distributes signal inputs to one, two, or three PCAA modules.
The shielded ground of the adjacent JGPA board and the 24 V field power terminals complement the terminals on the PCAA and TCAT. The module consists of a processor board shared by all Mark VIe distributed I/O boards, two application I/O boards, and a terminal board.
The entire module is considered the least replaceable unit, and no help is provided to diagnose or replace the individual circuit boards that make up the module.
The module is powered by a 28 V DC power connector and two RJ45 Ethernet connectors. At the edge of the module, 120 European box terminals provide field device I/O and power the JGPA board via connector P4. The module is connected to the TCAT via two 68-pin cables on connectors P1 and P2.
PCAA signals are divided into two groups. The TCAT terminal board routes the signal input to a single, two-channel, or TMR PCAA module. Signals dedicated to individual PCAA modules are connected to terminals. If sector input is not required, PCAA can be used without TCAT.
