The model is described as an analog I/O package, and the IS220PAICH1A model has been approved for use in hazardous and non-hazardous locations. On the front of the model, there are four indicators. There is also a port on the bottom, which is described as an I/O port. The PAIC battery pack can use a variety of voltages, the minimum voltage of the PAIC battery pack is 27.4 volts DC.

Because the IS220PAICH1A package can be used in many locations, there are several certifications related to the package, some of which are hazardous Sites, Zone I II IIC Group, Zone I II A, B, C, D and ATEX Zone II, IIC Group and non-hazardous sites.
