The IC693APU302P is a two-axis Positioning Module (APM) manufactured by GE Fanuc for motion and position control. This module can control two axes or two servomotors for simultaneous control of motion and position. It is a smart module that can be configured to run in both standard and follow mode.
In standard mode, the IC693APU302P runs and integrates the control with user logic in the PLC memory for high-performance control. In follow mode, the module provides high performance electronic drives for both primary and secondary applications. Modules are downloaded with a configuration developed using the Motion Programmer software package or VersaPro software with a minimum software version of 1.1.
The front panel of the IC693APU302P is fitted with two sports shaft ports via 9-pin D-shell connectors, as well as two 25-pin high-density ports to accommodate servo connections. Custom cables can be used to establish connections to modules, but there are also pre-assembled cables for faster wiring and terminating.
The module is compatible with GE Series 90-30 PLCS such as CPU 311, CPU 313 and CPU 323, where up to three APM modules can be installed. CPU 331 or later allows installation of up to eight APM modules with three instances per substrate.
The IC693APU302P axis positioning module features independent control stability, automatic data transfer facilities, maximum drive capability and improved system performance. It also has the ability to calculate and enhance position error measurements to maintain tracking accuracy, and can perform the complex calculations needed to precisely control the servo system.
