The BC810 is mainly composed of a baseboard (TP857) and a power/logic board. The backboard is where the connectors for the CEX-Bus and the external power supply are located. It is grounded to the DIN-rail through the metal parts of the housing. The board also carries an external power voting diode and fuse. Power and logic boards include + 3.3V converters, logic boards, CEX-Bus interconnect drivers, and interconnect cable connectors.
The BC810 can be used with PM857, PM861A, PM862, PM863, PM864A, PM865, PM866, PM866A, PM867 and PM891.
In two fully redundant systems where the active and standby cpus are interconnected, the CPU mainboard of the BC810 can be replaced online, which does not affect CEX traffic. If the BC810 needs to be replaced, all traffic on the CEX network segment connected to it stops.
The cex bus is used to extend an onboard communication port with a communication interface unit. Redundant communication interfaces can also be used on the cex bus. The cex bus interconnect unit BC810 is used to divide the cex bus into different segments to improve its availability. This improves the availability of systems with redundant communication interfaces.
